The Northern Arched Gate

The Northern Arched Gate on the Dome of the Rock's platform is one of the two gate located on the north side of the platform. It is located in the middle of the north edge of the platform.

It has 3 arches supported by 2 stone columns and 2 marble columns.

The arched gate runs parallel to the north door of the Dome of the Rock and King Faisal' Gate on the north. There are 9 staircases leading up to the arched gate.

It was built during Mamluk era in 721 H/1321 M during Sultan al-Nasir Muhammad ibn Qawalun reign as described by the inscription on the southern face of the arched gate.
